| The Auxiliary Student Loan Fund (SLF) began shortly after World War 1 as a program to financially assist the plight of the veterinarian and his family resulting from injury or death in that war. Despite tough economic times, the Auxiliary raised money to assist the profession and its practitioners. Eventually this assistance evolved into the Auxiliary Student Loan Fund. Over $9,000,000 has been loaned to 3,254 students since the inception of the SLF.
