The Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship Program

In 2013, the Auxiliary transferred $2,000,000 to the AVMF to establish The Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship Program. Annual proceeds from the endowment will support veterinary student scholarships for many years to come. During the 2018-2019 academic year, four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students at each of the AVMA-accredited veterinary colleges in the United States and the following international veterinary colleges: Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada; St. George’s University and Ross University in the Caribbean; Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Royal Veterinary College and the University of Glasgow in Europe. To be eligible a school must be AVMA-accredited and have an active SAVMA chapter. Applicants must be citizens of the United States.

Members, individuals, and students wishing to obtain information on the Auxiliary to the American Veterinary Medical Association Legacy Endowed Scholarship should visit https://www.avmf.org/grants-and-scholarships/scholarships/auxiliary-to-the-avma-scholarship-program/.

Members, veterinarians, and individuals may make donations to the scholarship. Make checks payable to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, note on the memo line “Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship,” and include a note with the donation stating that it is for the Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship and whether the donation is being made in Memory or Honor of someone. Donations to the Auxiliary scholarship are tax deductible as a charitable contribution since the AVMF is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
